The Cross Has Replaced the Law (Gal 2:2 1)

In the Old Testament, the gospels, & most of the book of Acts, it was faith plus works done through self-effort. Under Paul’s program beginning in Romans, self-sacrifice and self-surrender by faith (the cross) has replaced self-effort (law). It is no longer about our performance. It’s about Christ’s performance 2000 years ago at Calvary continuing today through the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. Gal 2:21. It’s faith plus nothing. “Dying to Sin” (Rom. 6:2) is a much better program than “trying not to sin.” Dying is far superior to trying!
